Paris Hilton Trojan Attack

The same group of hackers who last week promised nude photographs of Britney Spears are attempting to exploit the newly discovered bug affecting Microsoft Windows’ handling of animated cursors (ANI files) by sending out emails promising compromising pictures of Paris Hilton and pornstar Jenna Jameson.

This new wave of junk mail comes with subjects claiming “Hot pictures of paris hilton nude” and contain an embedded image, not of the celebrity hotel heiress but of hardcore actress Jenna Jameson.

When clicked on, the image links to a website containing the malicious Troj/Iffy-B Trojan horse. The Trojan horse links to more malicious code and another piece of malware which tries to exploit the Microsoft vulnerability.

The animated cursor bug has been patched by Microsoft this weekend but we encourage you to use a spam blocker and an adware remover.
